TOWARDS AN EQUITATIVE SOCIETY.

STRATEGIES TO COMBAT SEXISM.

Our focus.

As a student and woman, I am committed to the values of equality and justice. I am motivated by the need to combat sexism in all its forms. I recognize that sexism not only affects women, but also gender non-binary people and men who challenge established gender norms. This discrimination not only limits individual opportunities, but also perpetuates cycles of inequality that negatively affect society as a whole.

How does it manifest?

Sexism is expressed through hostility, exclusion, invisibility, aggressiveness and physical or symbolic violence; and it is not only carried out by one person against another, it also escalates to an institutional level (schools, government agencies, churches, hospitals) and a social level; This exclusive perspective is transmitted by the media (press, television, radio, internet) and reproduced in the language and other discourses present in our society.

Although there are various forms and expressions of sexism, a very common, recurrent and visible one is that which is expressed through language and communication through mass media, digital media or social networks.

Inequality in the workplace.

Let’s talk about the constant inequality that exists in the jobs, because of the fact of being a woman or a man, which we see manifested in the salaries, amount of work established or in other ways.

A study by the World Economic Forum shows graphs of the inequality that exists in the labor market.

It mentions that "54 years after the United States passed the Equal Pay Act, women in that country still face a substantial gender pay gap across the board".

Achieving one change through.

"Sexism is an invisible enemy that lurks in the shadows of our society, perpetuating inequalities and limiting human potential. To eradicate it, we must illuminate every corner with the radiance of equality, challenging stereotypes and building bridges of understanding between genders. Only when we recognize the intrinsic value of every individual, regardless of gender, can we throw off the yoke of sexism and lead the way to a world where diversity is celebrated and equity is the norm."
